Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-18

Stride is built so that this policy can stay short: the app has no accounts, no cloud and no analytics, and your data never leaves your phone. The Stride mobile application and the stride.example website are operated by Yevhen Stryzh (individual, Ukraine) — "Stride", "we", "us".

1. Who we are

Operator: Yevhen Stryzh, an individual operating under the laws of Ukraine.

Contact: contact@stride.example.

2. What the app stores — on your phone only

Activities. Your recorded runs, walks and rides: GPS routes, distance, pace, duration and step counts.

Settings. Your daily goals, reminder preferences and theme choice.

All of this is stored in the app's local storage on your device. The app makes no network requests: nothing is uploaded, synced or shared with us or anyone else. We have no servers holding your data and no way to access it.

3. Device permissions and what they are for

Location (while using / during a recording). Used only to map and measure an activity you started. Background location runs only while a recording is in progress — never all day — and stops when you finish.

Motion & fitness. Your phone's built-in step counter provides daily steps and per-activity step counts.

Notifications. Only if you enable the optional daily "time to move" reminder — a local notification scheduled on your device. There are no push notifications and no push tokens.

Every permission is optional and requested only when you use the matching feature. You can revoke any of them in system settings at any time.

4. Analytics and third parties

The app contains no analytics, no crash-reporting and no advertising SDKs, and integrates no third-party data processors. Since no data leaves your device, there is nothing for third parties to receive.

5. Data retention and deletion

Your data exists exactly as long as you keep it: delete an activity in the app, or delete the app to remove everything. There are no server copies and no backups on our side — see the Data Deletion page.

6. Children

The app stores no personal data outside your device and is suitable for general audiences. It is not directed to children under 13.

7. Changes to this policy

If a future version of Stride ever changes what data is handled (for example, an optional sync feature), this policy will be updated first and the change will be clearly announced in the app before it applies.
